Spring Ahead!!

So cliche eh? Well a long awaited spring has finally sprung!! Old man winter was merciless on us here in CT. We are hearty people and toughed it out! I must say it does make you appreciate those sunny days!!
What's new with everyone? I have been on facebook alot trying to keep my social live alive, but to me there's nothing like the personal contact of a fireside chat or a beer and a burger at the local pub and or , a walk in the woods. I don't think all of this technology is making real social connections in life. I see that my students social skills are lacking. Now that the weather is warming up folks can be seen out and about and life begins again!
Here is a photo of our cherry blossoms for the west coasters, can you smell the Pepe's pizza too??

Let's all keep the Parady family in Hamden in our prayers!

CHAMPIONS ON ICE!!

Here we are, toughing out the winter!!The family that plays together stays together!! I think we all love to play whether its swimming, skating , football or wiffle ball. Sundays are a skating day, I laced up my skates for the first time in 3 years and much to my surprise I had no knee pain and was having a grande ole time!!I even bought a new pair of skates to go again! My muscles are a little sore but I am trying tokeep up with my athletic brothers & sisters and their kids!! What fun we have and it doesn't cost anything!!Thanks to Grace for inviting us to skate!!!

Snow ! Snow ! and more snow to come!!

Here we go again. We are up to our necks in snow here in New England! many of us have already met our school snow day limit . I guess we will be going to school in July!! Anyway I try to use the down time wisely. One report inspired me to write , apparently the play Frankenstein was written during a blizzard. So we can use our creative selves to write a play, paint a picture, sing a new song!!ha!1ha!!

West Coasters count your blessings!! The snow angel has not fallen on San Francisco yet!!

Happy New Year 2011 !!!!!!!!!!

A new day, a new year! A clean slate with nothing to fear!!!

As I have recently reached a half a century old, I ponder about the things that I have accomplished and the challenges yet to come. Most of all I try to set achievable goals for the coming year. Yes, like all of humanity we fall off the wagon once in a while, whether it be a diet, an exercise routine or a bad habit of some sort.
This year let us focus on the positive and manyblessings in our lives and the goodness of other people. I'd like to thank my family and friends who supported me through my little illness and for all who came out to celebrate my birthday lunch at Tommy Sullivans! Claire, Grace, Bridget, Nancy,Martha, Kay-Kay, Dan, Dave Barry, Albert, and BetsyGreat food, great folks and fun!!I so appreciate your celebrating with me!
