Farewell to our sister Lynn

I'd like to thank everyone who came to the mass for our dear sister Lynn on
Feb.9th 2009 at St. Vincent DePaul in East Haven. We were happy to see many of the ole' Hal & Marian family &friends and some of Lynn's dear friends from high school.
I hope you have had time to reflect on the many good and funny times you had with her.
Nancy has saved some letters from her that are rather amusing and I will share them with you when we get together over the summer. For Kay & I we have been blessed with cards and prayers from our work friends and family to offer their condolences.

After a brief respite to Florida I am back to work and ready for the next chapter in life as they say. I hope it is a good one!!!
Nevertheless many have asked me for a copy of the eulogy which I will place here for you to have. I also scanned some photos for our west coasters and hope you are all doing well. I look forward to seeing you'all in the summer.
Love & prayers,
Mary

Eulogy

Lynn Parady was smart, creative, attractive, witty and funny! She had a loving and warm personality.
Her kindness and gentleness were her greatest strengths. She always reached out to others in need, even when she, herself, was struggling.
I always thought of Lynn as “My Big Sister” so fair and so grande! She taught me to write, sing and draw..
She laughed like an actress and often made up little ditties about life in the Parady-Sullivan clan.
She had the wit of a poet, with the stroke of her pen
An artist’s soul at heart, she sang songs for her family and friends.
Her journey was often painful and at times lonely.
Our prayers were answered when she found safety and love at Talmadge Nursing Home here in East Haven
It was here that Lynn received the love, nurturing and excellent healthcare for her debilitating illness and condition for the past several years.
We are all called to Love our neighbor as ourselves and to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Lynn was our sister.
Sisters stick together in life, even when times are hard.
We did our best to make sure her needs were met and even in the final days by her bedside, Lynn knew she was loved.
I was perusing through the headstones at the cemetery one day and I saw something that really hit home for me it said very simply “ God lends us people to love”. We were grateful to serve and honor our sister. We pray that Lynn is finally home in heaven with our mother Shirley and Hal, Mar-Mar and Stephen and is rejoicing in everlasting life. Amen
